Property - Development

Property development has always been in the Ibbett family’s blood and is an integral part of all the Bedfordia Group’s business activities. Throughout our growth, the group’s property development has largely focussed on purchasing sites with very long term potential some of which could be farmed in the interim. We always use specialists in all aspects of the planning and to move the development from current use to future use.

In most cases Bedfordia will undertake the investment itself, taking all the risk in-house. However, some investments have been carried out jointly with other developers, where it was beneficial for all parties to share the risk and call on each other’s different resources and expertise. Because of Bedfordia’s long term approach, we also work closely and collaboratively with local authorities and are respected for the quality and sympathy of every aspect of our developments.

Current Portfolio

Bedfordia were involved in residential land promotions which resulted in major land sales in North Brickhill and Bedford in 2006 along with Kempston in 2007.

Our current development portfolio consists of a number of sites in various stages of planning for uses ranging from residential, road side / retail and industrial to long term promotions through the local development framework.

We are constantly exploring and assessing the best possible ways to use and manage our portfolio, including the 2,200 ha of farmland farmed by Bedfordia Farms.
