Training & Development
Developing people and teams is an extremely important part of our values and culture. To support this we have designed and implemented a number of bespoke programmes to help employees at all levels to enhance and improve their skills in providing the ultimate customer experience, as well as specialist skills such as management of people and team working.
Management Development programme
Our Management Development Programme is used to assist all our managers in developing their general management skills. It is a 3 day programme covering areas such as understanding leadership styles, motivating people and time management.
Customer Experience programme
Our Customer Experience Programme was developed to enable our staff to meet the needs of each customer while providing added value wherever possible. The objective is to make each customer feel welcomed, respected, listened to and understood, and to make their Bedfordia experience positive and memorable. Every member of staff (not just managers and sales staff) attend our "Customer Shoes" training workshops. This ensures everyone thinks about what it is like for customers when they come into contact with Bedfordia, by putting themselves in their shoes and examining what influences that experience and what can improve it.
IT training
In house IT training programmes keep employees up to date with changing technology and new systems and processes.
Personal Development
We are always happy to support our people in their own personal development activities. Recently this has included help for staff who have undertaken:
- MA in Strategic Human Resource Management
- A post graduate Diploma in Personnel and Development
- Diploma in Management Studies from the Institute of Management.
- Professional Diploma In Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing
- BTEC Professional Diploma Level 4 in Residential Lettings and Management
- NVQ Level 3 in Administration/Customer Care
Training and development partners
We work closely with the local Business Chamber through which NVQ training has taken place and with the BMW training facility which offers training for employees within the BMH business - in particular, the provision of high quality apprenticeship schemes.
