Key dates in the development of the Bedfordia Group:

1928

CV Ibbett built first two houses

1934

CV Ibbett employs staff to start building houses and formed Besbuilt

1939

First farm purchased – Village Farm, Milton Ernest, Bedfordshire

1942

Pedigree pig herd registered with the breed name ‘Bedfordia’

1958

Bedfordia Farms Ltd incorporated

1959

Bedfordia Industrial Credit (now known as Bedfordia Group) incorporated

1962

The property companies, Ringroad Investments and Dyton Developments formed which later became known as Bedfordia Properties and Bedfordia Developments

1965

Bedfordia Plant Hire commenced (later to become the biggest supplier of hired plant to the building industry in the South East of England)

1972

Acquired John Deere tractor franchise in Oakley

1982

Acquired Daihatsu franchise in Milton Ernest, Bedfordshire

1983

Bedfordia Motor Holdings incorporated - now know as Bedfordia Motor Holdings

1987

Bedfordia Group Plc formed by changing the name of Bedfordia Industrial Credit

1989

24,000 tonne state-of-the-art grain store completed at Milton House Farm, (remains the largest farm store in the UK)

1990

Acquired BMW franchise in Bedford

1995

The first UK farm to be accredited to UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service ) laboratory quality standards (the highest standard achievable in the UK)

2003

Acquired BMW franchise in Cambridge

2006

Biogas plant became operational (pioneering UK production of renewable energy from Bedfordia Farms' pig slurry and food chain waste) and BIOGEN (UK) Ltd formed

2006

Acquired BMW franchise in Bishop’s Stortford (Elms Stansted)
